Somewhere in the spectrum between Musique Concrete and Phonography, is a vast gray area that is disowned and disputed by either side. This compilation treats this no-man's land as its playground. Field recordings they are, with some processing, but not just walls of rhythmic noise. Sounds of nature, sounds of the city, using the non-instrumental rhythms and melodies of the source recording as the focal points, coaxing the music and beauty out of unplanned, un-orchestrated events. Nasienie returns with an EP of finely produced ambient soundscapes. Despite its brevity, this trio of ambient compositions seems to expand the experience of time itself. "'Land and Sea' used a sample of "Land and Sea" by Halkyn. This one talking about some free folk. 'Insomnia' inspired by an original "Insomnia" movie (1997) and Robin Rimbaud aka Scanner. The Light Will Fill the Darkness and Obliterate It is a poetic and richly textured work by Canadian sound artist K.M. Krebs. Djinnestan is the quieter spawn of Saluki Regicide. Selling the Wind is a collection of tranquil ambient constructions which have been derived from more "complicated" tracks among my other recording projects. It has something in common with the Rain compositions as well, in that they are mellow studies in repetition with variation, but these differ in their brevity. As a collection, they are a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for listening to this Webbed Hand Records release. Please... C.P. McDill - Anthology 1 (1993-2005) [wh073] Anthology 1 (1993-2005) Webbed Hand Records' first release of 2006 is an anthology of recordings by the label's founder, C.P. McDill. This selection represents the spectrum of his sound art projects from 1993 to 2005, excluding the long-form (CD-length) ambient recordings. C.P. McDill's began experimenting with recorded sound in the mid-1980s, but the tapes from that period have unfortunately (or fortunately) been lost. The earliest track,... A project which began as a spinoff of Saluki Regicide, but which took on a personality of its own as a pattern began to emerge. This is a peculiar sound art of a very diverse nature, but unified by the presence of Shortwave signals. These bizarre tracks may bend your mind, if you are in a susceptible state. The Webbed Hand "Rain" series in now graced by a contribution from Djinnestan. Much like the shorter works of Djinnestan, this 74-minute piece is subtle and enchanted. Mirage Emigrants is the third collection by Saluki Regicide, and the sixth release overall. Saluki Regicide continues to surprise and delight listeners with strange visionary abstractions in sound. From the artist: "For this concept album, the idea was to make new songwriting. All structures were influenced by rock and also by experimental techno and prepared improvisation (which i still don't really enjoy most of the time though). Saluki Regicide returns with another selection of haunted head music to disturb your inner child. Kittenhead is the latest long-form (CD-length) production by Djinnestan, departing significantly from the Rain series and Purr. In many ways, it defies easy categorization. It is very ambient, but contains rhythms. It is dark, yet at the same time whimsical. It includes acoustic instruments and vocals, but they have been processed virtually beyond recognition. Purr is a 76 minute ambient track intended to be played at low volume as background ambience, preferably as you go to sleep. It generates a warm and cozy feeling, like having a cat purring next to your head. With a high fidelity stereo system possessing good bass response, some of the infrasonic qualities will come through, thus adding to the trancey and hypnotic effect of the work. Marco Lucchi continues his "Radure" series of conceptual releases with this fourth installment, centered on the Japanese word "iki" - a term (like the more familiar wabi-sabi) that is uniquely cultural, lacking a direct translation in our tongue. A fine document of select tracks from earliest and later session, spanning RCS's recording history beginning in 2002 to the end of 2003. Eclectic instrumental grooves, a pleasure to hear. This is a collection of tracks made before and after the work that went into Don't Mind if I Do. Akashic Crow's Nest's first regular album release of 2007 continues ACN's adventures in ambient sound generated from images. The tracks are created by first making a very long thin picture file that functions much like a piano roll, which is then fed into a software synthesizer which reads the picture from left to right, pixel by pixel, and translates the values into tones, adding variables such as loudness and panning based on information in the picture. The output is then treated to various... Topics: ambient, space, generative, electronic, dark ambient, meditative

A second collaboration from Mystified and Saluki Regicide. This one differs from "Ancestral Technologies" (wh017) in a couple of ways.
